UNLV: Shannon returns to UNLV for her fourth season. She dug 161 balls in 2001 with 17 kills, 15 service aces and two blocks. Her best offensive performance came against American University (9/8) where she tallied eight kills with ten digs and two blocks. She had seven games with double-digit digs. She was also named to the MWC All-Academic Team for the second straight year. 2000: Shannon played in 26 matches and 76 games, reaching career-highs in every category. She finished with a career-high 14 digs against Nevada, Reno and tallied 12 digs against Utah in the MWC Tournament. She was also named to the MWC All-Academic Team. 1999: Shannon appeared in six matches and nine games in 1999. She compiled eight digs and one kill against San Diego State (10/29) and a season-high four digs against Southern Illinois (9/4). COLLINS ON CHASE: "Shannon is probably our top defensive specialist. She has been a good leader for us this spring and will probably be our libero this fall." COLORADO STATE: Attended Colorado State in 1998 and played for the club team, but did not play on the intercollegiate volleyball team. HIGH SCHOOL: A 1998 graduate of Durango High School in Las Vegas ... lettered four years ... team won zone and state championships in 1997 ... MVP of the state tournament ... in 1996 team was state runner-up ... made All-Zone Team in 1996 and 1997 ... named All-Division in 1995 and 1996 ... earned scholar-athlete award all four years ... coached by Bob Kelly ... also played catcher on the softball team.
