LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball team closed out the Baden Cougar Challenge with a 2-1 mark with its second win Saturday. After defeating UC Davis, 3-0, Saturday morning, the Rebels disposed of the Boise State Broncos in three games, as well. UNLV won by scores of 30-17, 30-27, 30-20.

The Rebels hit .245 for the match to the Broncos' .119. UNLV smashed 56 kills in the three-game win, while BSU hit only 39. UNLV racked up 25 kills in its game-three win, while they hit .383 in the game. Boise State hit no higher than .170 in any single game.

Jessica Walters and Maria Aladjova collected double-doubles in the match. Walters had a match-high 15 kills and was second on the team with 15 digs. Aladjova had 12 kills and 13 digs. Jennifer Johnson pitched in 12 kills, as well.

Melody Nua held a match-high hitting percentage of .714 with five kills and no errors on seven attempts. Nua had 40 of the Rebels' 52 assists, while digging out eight Bronco attacks.

Jamie Claussen led the Broncos with 11 kills and was followed closely by Cameron Flunder's 10. Mandy Klein had 33 of her team's 38 assists. Jackie Stroud was the only Bronco to eclipse double-digit dig numbers with her 22.

Lauren Miramontes and Maria Aladjova were named to the classic's all-tournament team.

Up next for the Rebels is their own UNLV Invitational on Sept. 8-9. UNLV will welcome UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Northridge and Xavier to the Cox Pavilion.
