LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's volleyball team defeated New Mexico 3-0 (30-27, 30-20, 30-23) on Saturday night at the Cox Pavilion.

With the win, the Rebels improve to 8-8, 2-3 in Mountain West Conference play. The Lobos fall to 3-15, 0-5 in league play.

UNLV is 2-0 since junior setter Nikki King returned from an ankle injury. The team is 8-3 this season with her as the starting setter. She finished the match with 38 assists, four kills and seven digs.

Leiana Oswald led the Rebels with 16 kills. She just missed a double-double with nine digs.

Michelle Banks tallied a career-high 11 kills. She also had six digs and one block assist.

Sheila Ocasio-Clemente added six kills and a season-high nine digs in the three-game match. Christina Kirschner also put down five kills with a .625 (5-0-8) attack percentage.

Nina Franchini finished with a season-high 17 digs at the libero spot.

New Mexico was led by Anna Reines' 11 kills and five digs.

UNLV continues conference play on the road next weekend. The Rebels play Utah on Friday and BYU on Saturday. Both matches are set for 6 p.m. PT starts.
