Road Woes Continue

PROVO - The UNLV women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (21-30, 23-30, 20-30) decision to BYU on Saturday night in Provo. UNLV has dropped six straight road matches, but boast a 5-1 record at home.

The Cougar offense recorded only seven errors in the match for a .439 (61-7-123) attack percentage. UNLV hit .157 (42-21-134) and was out-blocked 17-5.

With the loss, the Rebels fall to 8-10 overall, 2-5 in Mountain West Conference play. The Cougars improve to 15-5, 5-2 in league play.

Sheila Ocasio-Clemente led the Rebels with 15 kills and a .400 (15-3-30) attack percentage.

Nicki King had a double-double 37 assists and 10 digs, while Patricia Assuncao put up 10 kills with three digs and a block assist.

Leiana Oswald finished with seven kills, nine digs and a solo block.

BYU was led by Lindsey Metcalf and Kimberly Wilson who tallied 18 kills each.

UNLV returns to the Cox Pavilion on Monday to host Northern Arizona. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
