Rebels Lose In Straight Sets To Aggies|

LOGAN, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team lost 3-0 to the Utah State Aggies Saturday afternoon at the Wayne Estes Center. The Aggies claimed the match behind set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-23.
USU outhit UNLV by 123 points (.225 to .102) with help from 12 more kills and three fewer errors (18-21) in two more attack attempts (120-118). The Aggies hit .176 to begin the match and upped their hitting efficiency in each subsequent set with .209 and .279 averages in the second and third, respectively. The Rebels' best showing came in the third set when they hit .205, which followed two sub-.100 efforts.
STAT OF THE GAME: USU's Lauren Anderson and Rachel Gale-Hammond combined for 30 of the Aggies' 45 kills in the match. The duo also hit .270 (30-10-74), while the rest of the team produced a .109 average (15-8-46).
REBEL OF THE GAME: Riley Jacobs compiled a team-high 28 assists and added four digs, four assisted blocks and two kills.
QUOTABLE: "We weren't strong on offense, as only Ashley (Owens) and Elsa (Descamps) were able to put the ball away," said head coach Cindy Fredrick. "We just didn't play good volleyball today."
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: With the conclusion of this week's road trip, UNLV will return to Las Vegas and the Cox Pavilion to host the Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack and San Jose State Spartans. The Rebels and Wolf Pack will square off Thursday, November 2 (6:00 pm) in a meeting with Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold implications. The Spartans will come to town for a Saturday matinee at 12:00 pm PT.
