Volleyball Shuts Down San Diego State

LAS VEGAS - For the second consecutive weekend, the UNLV volleyball team avenged a 3-0 road loss with a 3-0 win at home, this time against San Diego State. The Rebels won 30-23, 30-28, 30-20, improving their record to 9-17, 5-7 in Mountain West Conference play. The Aztecs fall to 18-11, 9-3 in league play.

Leiana Oswald led the Rebels with 19 kills and hit .381 (19-3-42) in the three-game match. She also added five digs and one block assist.

Shannon Chase played outside hitter and finished with eight kills, 11 digs and three blocks.

Sarah Fachner tallied seven kills and four blocks, while Blair Wilkes added three kills and four blocks.

Nicki King finished with 34 assists and four digs at the setter spot.

San Diego State was led by Zlatina Anguelova's 11 kills and six digs.

UNLV wraps up regular season play next weekend on the road with matches at Air Force and New Mexico.
