LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's volleyball team defeated Kentucky 3-2 (27-30, 30-17, 27-30, 30-25, 15-11) on Thursday night in the second match of the UNLV Thanksgiving Classic. Hawai'i took Weber State in four games in the opening match.

The win improves UNLV record to 12-17 on the season. Kentucky falls to 14-17.

Three Rebels finished with over 20 kills in the match. Tarin Keith led the charge with 25 kills, 19 digs and a .309 (25-8-55) attack percentage. Sheila Ocasio-Clemente followed closely behind with 24 kills and three blocks, while Leiana Oswald tallied 21 kills and 12 digs.

Setter Nicki King finished the match with 69 assists, 12 digs and three block assists, while libero Nina Franchini put together a team-high 23 digs.

Patricia Assuncao finished with 11 kills and five digs. Michelle Banks dug 11 balls and added five kills.

UNLV continues play in the Thanksgiving Classic on Friday when they take on Weber State at 7:30 p.m. Hawai'i and Kentucky square off in the opener at 5 p.m.
