LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball program had seven student-athletes named to the Fall 2013 Academic All-Mountain West Team, including four repeat selections, the league announced. In all, UNLV had a total of 39 student-athletes tabbed to the academic team, which marked the eighth straight year with at least 35 honorees.

The seven of volleyball players on the list were Allison Davies (accounting), Ceannia Kincade (undeclared), Carly Riehl (biological sciences), Stephanie Thelen (communication studies), Julia Topor (undeclared), Madeline Westman (communications studies) and Katlin Winters (meetings & event management).

Westman becomes the sixth Rebel to earn the distinction of being a four-time selection to the conference's academic team. She joins Rebel alumnae Kristin Koochi (2003-06), Jada Walker (2004-07), Maria Aladjova (2004-07), Erin Greenwood (2006-09) and Kelsey Keeler (2006-09) on the short list.

 

 

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. Overall, a league-record 534 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2013 Academic All-Mountain west Team.
