LOS ANGELES - The Rebels improved to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the Four Points Sheraton LAX Classic in Los Angeles, Calif., with a 3-1 (30-28, 30-24, 25-30, 30-27) victory over the Northwestern Wildcats (2-2). UNLV was led offensively by double-doubles from Maria Aladjova (12 kills, 11 digs) and Jessica Walters (12 kills, 21 digs).

The Rebels return to action tonight at 7:00 pm, against the host Loyola Marymount Lions in the classic's finale.

UNLV took a 2-0 lead into the intermission between games two and three, but watched as Northwestern cut the lead by one game with a victory in the third set. The Rebels turned things around and won the fourth to take the match.

Lauren Miramontes led the Rebels in kills with 17, while Erin Greenwood slugged the best hitting percentage, .308 (5-1-13).

Melody Nua fell one dig shy of producing a double-double with nine digs and 49 assists.

UNLV had four players tally double-digit digs with Walters' career-high 21 leading the way. Jada Walker had 19, while Camille Cunningham had 14 and Aladjova had 11.

Northwestern's Lindsay Anderson led nailed down a match-high 20 kills in defeat. Courtnie Paulus and Brittani Gray tallied double-digits in kills with 15 and 13, respectively.

Elyse Glab led the Wildcats in assists with 38, while Kate Nobilio was tops in digs with 21.
