ON THE SIDELINES: The UNLV Rebels will return to the Cox Pavilion to open up Mountain West play against San Diego State, who won a piece of the 2012 MW championship, on Saturday, Sept. 21. The match will be the first in three weeks for the Rebels at home after opening up the 2013 season in Las Vegas in their own UNLV Invitational.

REBEL REWIND: The UNLV Rebels went 1-2 last week at the Gonzaga Invitational in Spokane, Wash. UNLV was swept in its first two matches by the host Bulldogs and the Arizona State Sun Devils before it rebounded with a 3-0 win over the Seattle Redhawks.

Sekola Falemaka was the lone Rebel represented on the all-tournament team after she led the squad in both kills (31) and digs (28). Falemaka began the tourney with a .321 hitting efficiency to go along with 14 kills and nine digs against the Bulldogs. She followed that up with a double-double vs. ASU when she combined 10 kills with 12 digs. In the Rebels' final match, she had seven kills and seven digs.

GETTING TO #300: The UNLV Rebels' sweep of the Seattle Redhawks on Sept. 7, not only signified the team's third win of the 2013 season, but the program's 300th victory.

The Rebels began the year sitting on 297 wins, but quickly increased their total to 299 with back-to-back wins over Cal State Fullerton and Portland to open the 2013 season. Unfortunately, it took four tries to reach the 300 milestone after consecutive losses prior to the Seattle win.

Overall, the program owns a 300-320-2 record in 23 years of play.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: When the NCAA released its team and individual statistics through week two of the season on Sept. 8, the UNLV Rebels were recognized in both categories.

The Rebels are ranked in the top 100 in total blocks. The Scarlet & Gray is tied for 79th with a 2.35 blocks per set. They sit just outside the top 100 in assists, as they're tied for 108th (12.25 ps).

Sekola Falemaka sits 32nd overall in aces per set with an average of 0.56. Falemaka, who has 13 aces in each of her past two seasons, has served up 10 aces this year.

THREE & OUT: The UNLV Rebels have played six matches thus far in the 2013 season with five of those only going to three sets. This is the fourth instance that UNLV has begun a season like this in the "modern era" of the program since 1996.

Previously, the feat had only been accomplished in 1999, 2000 and '03. In fact, the '99 and '00 editions only played three sets in six of their first seven outings. The latter set the benchmark for the most three-setters in nine contests with eight.

Dating back to '96, the '00 and '06 teams played a program-best 19 three-set matches, while the '08 squad played 18.
