ON THE SIDELINES The UNLV Rebels return to Las Vegas for their final home matches of the 2010 season, as they host the BYU Cougars and the Utah Utes on Nov. 11 and 13, respectively.

REBEL REWIND: The UNLV Rebels went 1-1 last week with a 3-1 loss to the New Mexico Lobos before rebounding with a 3-2 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.

Sara Nehf led the Rebel offense in kills with 40 for a 4.44 per-set average, as she threw down 15 against UNM and a career-high 25 vs. TCU. Both tallies were match highs. Nehf also contributed 16 digs, eight in each contest, three assisted blocks and three aces.

Kendra Glendenning and Amanda Alles split the setting duties for the Rebels, as the former dished out 47 assists to the latter's 45. Each amassed 30 in the win over TCU with Glendenning's going down as a career- and season-high.

Kela Lau Hee paced the Rebel defense with 36 digs, including 23 against TCU, which was one shy of tying her career high.

At the net, Candice Thomas and Madeline Westman collected 10 blocks apiece. Thomas' were all assisted, while Westman had one solo putback.

RECORD BOOK RAMBLINGS: The UNLV Rebels have seen the record book welcome some of their current players into the fold with help from their play this season. Amanda Alles ranks the highest of any Rebel with a sixth-place showing in assists with 942. Kela Lau Hee ranks eighth in digs with 785. Sara Nehf is the only Rebel to place in two different categories, as she ranks ninth in total attempts (2,127) and in kills (776).

REBELS TREAT THEMSELVES TO CAREER HIGHS: The UNLV Rebels had a few players tally career highs in the five-set win over TCU on Halloween.

~Sara Nehf threw down a career-high 25 kills, which surpassed her previous best of 21.

~Candice Thomas threw down a career-high 17 kills, which surpassed her previous best of 15.

~Kendra Glendenning assisted on 30 kills, which surpassed her previous best of 29.

~Madeline Westman aced four serves, which surpassed her previous best of two.

LET'S PLAY 'EM ALL: The UNLV Rebels own a 5-1 record in five-set matches played in 2010. UNLV's first two came in neutral-site matches with wins over Rutgers (Aug. 28) and Florida Gulf Coast (Sept. 4). The last four five-set contests have occurred at home with the Rebels losing the first to Xavier (Sept. 18) before claiming the next three against Nevada, Reno (Sept. 27), Wyoming (Oct. 7) and TCU (Oct. 31).

Unfortunately, the Rebels haven't faired so well in their three- and five-set matches. When the team only plays three they own a 2-11 record compared to a 1-4 mark in four sets.
