Rebels Face New Mexico Monday Night|
Nov. 12, 2017
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team, which last played at San Diego State Thursday, will stay out on the road for a Monday night affair in Albuquerque, N.M., against the New Mexico Lobos. First serve is slated for 6:00 pm PT (7:00 pm MT).
The Scarlet & Gray is 8-20 overall and 4-11 in Mountain West play. Unfortunately, the Rebels are in the midst of a five-match losing streak after they had posted a run of four wins in six outings that spanned October 5 to 21.
UNM, on the other hand, is in 14-15 on the year and sits eighth in the MW with a 6-10 mark; however, it is mired in a three-match losing streak. The team's contest against UNLV will be its fourth in a five-day span, as it played Thursday and Saturday at Fresno State and San Diego State, respectively, and will host UTEP Sunday.
This will be the only meeting between UNLV and UNM this season. The Lobos and Air Force Falcons are the two squads that the Rebels will only face once due to the MW's unbalanced, 18-match schedule.
TUNE IN, WATCH & LISTEN: The UNLV volleyball team will have Monday's match at New Mexico streamed live and free of charge via the Mountain West Network. Links to the UNLV-UNM video stream as well as live statistics can be found at UNLVRebels.com.
ON THE SIDELINE: After the conclusion of Monday's match at New Mexico, the UNLV volleyball team returns to Las Vegas and the Cox Pavilion for its final home contest of the season, a Saturday affair against Air Force. The Rebels and Falcons will serve it up at 3:00 pm, with the program recognizing its two seniors - Ashley Owens and Lia Herlosky - prior to the bout.
The season finale will take place two days later on November 20, at Fresno State (6:00 pm).
HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORDS: UNLV Volleyball's head-to-head series against the New Mexico dates back 32 years, as the Rebels and Lobos first met in 1985.
UNLV and UNM have played 39 times in all, and the Rebels have won 24 of those meetings, including the last three. Additionally, the Rebels have won five of the last six and eight of the last 10 contests. In the bouts that have taken place in Albuquerque, UNLV is 12-8, and has won four of the last five in the Duke City.
