UNLV Runs At Riverside

LAS VEGAS - UNLV cross country finished 20th on Saturday morning at the 29th annual UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational, which was held at the UCR Agriculture Operations Course.
Lauren Petersen paced the Rebels, finishing 88th by covering the 5k course in a time of 18:34.6, and UNLV amassed 555 points.
UC Riverside took home team honors, as the hosts cumulated 89 points, which was nine fewer than BYU, while Azusa Pacific finished third with 106 points. Jacky Kipwambok of Azusa Pacific earned top individual honors, finishing with a time of 16:29.5, a little more than three seconds faster than Cecily Lemmon of BYU.
Other finishers for UNLV included Shannon Simpson (127th, 19:04.3), Lexie Bravo (128th, 19:06.6), Bailey Kuestermeyer (130th, 19:10.2), Ali Motor (139th, 19:19.5), Lucy Beuster (144th, 19:21.6), Courtney Allen (161st, 19:38.1), Amaris Williams (202nd, 21:22.0) and Samantha Swan (209th, 21:45.4). Also running today for the Rebels was Brandie Pena, and she competed in a 5k race and finished 152nd with a time of 24:17.5.
UNLV will return to California next weekend, traveling to the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 26.
