Rebels Finish 11th At UC San Diego Meet|

LA JOLLA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebel cross country team finished 11th overall at the Triton Classic Cross Country Invitational held at the UC San Diego's North Campus Course in La Jolla, Calif. Lauren Petersen, who finished 21st with a final time of 23:17.3, paced the Rebel contingent in the 6K race.
Besides Petersen, four other runners scored for UNLV. Auzsane Crowe-Carter was the second Rebel to cross the finish line, and she did so in a time of 24:15.1. Corey Honeycutt and Amanda Berg finished one after the other with the former coming in 72nd (24:29.8), while the latter was 73rd (24:32.1). Courtney Allen rounded out the quintet for a 93rd-place finish (24:45.6).
Loyola Marymount won the 22-team event with a final score of 71 points, which was aideded by a third-place finish from Sarah Vitug (22:20.0).
San Diego State's Marianne Hogan was the top finisher with a final time of 22:06.1, which helped her team to a second-place showing.
UNLV will head back to California next week to participate in the Northridge Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge on Saturday, Oct. 13.
