SUNNYVALE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished 13th overall at Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational Saturday morning. The Rebels tallied a score of 308 in the 6K race that was contested at Baylands Park and featured 20 teams and 170 runners.
Southern Utah claimed the Invite title with a team score of 60. UC Santa Barbara (138) and Loyola Marymount (148) took second and third, respectively.
Spencer Moore paced the team with a 12th-place finish -- 11th amongst collegiate competition -- in a season-best time of 20:58.8. Angela Ziff was the second Rebel to cross the line, 49th overall and with a personal-best time of 21:44.6. Sara Williams (84th/22:09.8), Caitlin Amburgey (99th/22:32.5 SB) and Kennedy Allen (118th/22:56.1) rounded out the scorers for UNLV. Lindy Eskin (23:04.2 PB) and Nicole Snow (23:48.1) also represented the Scarlet & Gray.
"We ended the day with four seasonal bests and one personal best on this course," said head coach Jebreh Harris. "I am proud of how Spencer was only one place out of the top-10 finishers. Overall, our group is young, but we are gradually progressing as the season continues."
The Rebels have next weekend off; however, they will reconvene in Boise, Idaho, at the Mountain West Championships on October 28.
