Rebels Wrap Up Regular Season

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - UNLV cross country finished its regular season Saturday at the Bronco Invitational, which was hosted by Santa Clara and was held at Baylands Park.
The Rebels finished 16th at the meet with 395 team points, while New Mexico State won the team title with 49 points and Lauren Weaver, an unattached runner, won the 5k race in a time of 16:46. It was one of the largest meets in the country this season, with more than 630 runners overall competing in four races, with the men running an 8k.
UNLV senior Bailey Kuestermeyer turned in the fastest time of the day, an 18:48 that resulted in a 74th-place finish for the multi-sport athlete. Lucy Beuster finished 83rd with a time of 18:51, Lauren Petersen finished 97th with a time of 19:06, Ali Motor finished 103rd with a time of 19:09 and Lexie Bravo rounded out the Rebel top five by finishing 103rd with a time of 19:16.
The Women's Invitational included the following teams: Black Hills State, Boise State, Cal, Fresno State, Hawaii-Manoa, Long Beach State, Nevada, Reno, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, San Jose State, host Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Davis, San Diego, UNLV, USF and a few unattached runners as well.
UNLV will now prepare for the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championships, which will be held in Provo, Utah, on Oct. 31.
