Rebels Finish Ninth At MW Championships|

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team finished ninth overall at the 2017 Mountain West Championships, which were held at New Mexico's North Golf Course. The Rebels were led by Spencer Moore who finished 55th with a final time of 22:59.71.
The Scarlet & Gray was also represented by Emma Wahlenmaier (67th/23:40.78), Elisa Rovere (69th/23:46.34), Lindy Eskin (71st/24:02.00), Skyler Free (72nd/24:02.57) and Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete (83rd/27:14.26) in the 6K race.
The host New Mexico Lobos, who are ranked No. 2 in the latest USTFCCCA Top-25 Poll, claimed their 10th straight MW team title with a team score of 22 points. All five of their scoring runners placed in the top 15, including four between first and fifth place, backed the championship. Ednah Kurgat won the MW individual title with a time of 19:58.77, while teammates Weini Kelati (20:11.63) and Charlotte Prouse (20:14.67) were second and third, respectively.
Boise State had three of its own place fourth, seventh and eighth to finish second with 50 points. Utah State came in third (73 points) with Air Force (144), San Jose State (144), Nevada, Reno (145), Colorado State (179), Wyoming (204), UNLV (282) and Fresno State (309) rounding out fourth through 10th. San Diego State did not register a team score due to it only having three runners entered in the race.
