Rebels Finish 11th At MW Championships|

KUNA, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country program finished 11th overall (309 points) at the Mountain West Championships Friday. The Rebels were led by Spencer Moore who crossed the line in 52nd with a final time of 22:12.5 in the women's 6K.
The Scarlet & Gray also had Angela Ziff (72nd/23:06.30), Sara Williams (77th/23:38.90), Lindy Eskin (81st/24:31.2), Kennedy Allen (84th/25:16.60) and Caitlin Amburgey (85th/25:23.60) compete in the meet that was held at Falcon Crest Golf Club outside of Boise.
"We were ready to race," stated cross country head coach Jebreh Harris, "We have to do a better job of competing like we know how to. It's not how we wanted to place, but we have to refocus and stay positive for West Regionals in two weeks."
The New Mexico Lobos, the 2015 NCAA National Champion ranked and No. 7 team in the latest USTFCCCA poll, claimed their ninth consecutive MW title behind a team total time of 1:43:18.10 and 42 points. The Lobos were paced by Alice Wright (20:02.70) and Calli Thackery (20:11.30) and their 1-2 finishes.
Air Force finished 11 points behind UNM in second place with a haul of 53 (1:43:58.90). Host Boise State rounded out the top three with 86 points (1:45:26.80). Colorado State (103), Wyoming (123), Utah State (148), Nevada, Reno (193), San Jose State (224), San Diego State (261), Fresno State (276) finished fourth through 10th, respectively.
By virtue of its higher finish at the Conference meet, UNR claimed the three points associated with the sport towards the 2016-17 Governor's Series presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold.
