Rebels Harriers Picked Eighth In The Mountain West

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's cross country team was selected to finish eighth in the 2011 Mountain West Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches. The Rebels received 11 points to finish seven spots behind New Mexico's 49 points and seven first-place votes.
UNLV opens up the season in Reno, Nev., at the Nevada Twilight Classic on Sept. 10.
Besides being picked to win the 2011 MW Cross Country title, New Mexico enters the season ranked second in the country following the release of the 2011 USTFCCCA Preseason Poll.
Colorado State was second in the poll with 43 points. Air Force and Wyoming were separated by only two points for third and fourth, respectively. Air Force picked up 34 points to Wyoming's 32. Boise State, a newcomer to the conference in 2011, was fifth with 23 points. TCU (17 points) and San Diego State (15 points) were sixth and seventh just head of UNLV.
The 2011 MW Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo., on Oct. 29.
