Rebels To Run On The Island Of O'ahu|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - One week after running under the stars in northern Nevada, the UNLV cross country team will compete bright and early Saturday morning - 7:05 am - on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu. The Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course on the Marines Corps Base Hawaii will be the site of the Big Wave Invitational hosted by the University of Hawai'i.
Joining UNLV and UH at the 13th edition of the event will be Hawai'i Pacific, BYU-Hawai'i, Chaminade, UH-Hilo, Alaska-Anchorage and George Fox.
"This will be a competitive meet for us,"said cross country head coach Jebreh Harris. "There are some quality teams that will challenge us to step up. In so many ways this meet is beneficial to our program."
The Rebel contingent will be led by Auzsane Crowe-Carter, who finished sixth overall last week at the Nature's Bakery Nevada Twilight Classic in Sparks, Nev. Crowe-Carter will be joined by Amanda Berg, Katie Cochran, Heather Hernandez-Shaw, Miranda Menzies and Arielle Steimer-Barragan.
The meet is the second of five races the Scarlet & Gray will run this fall. Following their trip to Hawaii, the Rebels will host their own UNLV Cross Country Invitational at Sunset Park on Sept. 28.
