LAS VEGAS - The Rebel cross country team takes to the road again this weekend, traveling west to San Diego, Calif. for the SDSU Aztec Invitational. UNLV is coming off a 10th place finish at the UC Irvine Invite last Saturday.

This is the 63rd running of the Aztec Invitational, having been first run in December of 1943 (The women's division was later introduced in 1977). The Rebel women will trek the course as a part of the Women Invitational division at 9 a.m., following the Women's Open bracket. All races of the Aztec Invitational will take place at San Diego's historic Balboa Park.

16 teams will compete in the Women's Invitational division of the meet, highlighted by #4 ranked Arkansas and the Pac-10's Southern California. UNLV will not be the only Mountain West school traveling to SDSU, as Air Force is scheduled to compete as well.

Leading UNLV into battle this weekend will be Charlotte Browning. Browning topped all Rebel runners a week ago at UC Irvine, placing 42nd with a time of 19:42.00.

Another runner to watch for should be Jenni Shearer, who paced the Rebels at the Aztec Invitational last year. Ashley Silva, Ali Ainsworth and Laura Lundin are other UNLV harriers to keep and eye this weekend.
