LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's cross country team will run at home for the first time this season after competing in three meets in California, as the Rebels host the UNLV Invite on Saturday morning at Floyd Lamb State Park.

The Rebel lineup will be made up Ali Ainsworth, Ashley Pierce-Callihan, Janessa Hoppe and Jenni Shearer, who all have ran at the previous three cross country meets that UNLV has competed in this fall. Shearer, a freshman from Fort Wayne, Ind., has been the Rebels' highest finisher in all three races this fall. Joining them will be Deanna Appuglise, Brittney Bullocks, Ann Marie Clark, Lakeisha Lawson and Desarae Tyson will run in the race as well. It will be the first cross country meet this season for five athletes, who compete in track and field for UNLV.

There will be two races Saturday, a men's 8k which has a four team-field and is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. (PDT) and a women's 5k which will start at 8:45 a.m. The women's race will feature nine teams. Among the women's teams will be Concordia, Cal State Dominquez Hills and Texas Lutheran University.

Saturday's race will be the second-to-last regular-season meet for the Rebels, who travel to the Sacramento State Invite on Oct. 14 before heading to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Mountain West Conference Championships on Oct. 29.
