LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV cross country team heads back to the state of California for the Northridge Invitational hosted by Cal State Northridge. The Rebel harriers will compete in the women's 5K, which is scheduled to start at 8:00 am.

UNLV is one of eight collegiate programs competing in the 5K along with CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, Central Arizona College, Glendale CC, Los Angeles Trade Tech, Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara. The race will also include several unattached athletes as well as competitors from Off the Couch Track Club.

"This is our final race before the Mountain West Cross Country Championships," said head cross country coach Jebreh Harris. "We believe this race will be a great confidence booster as we see where we are competitively as a team going into this final stretch. We have been working hard over the last few weeks and we will have a good weekend."

Lauren Petersen, who finished first at last year's race - a 6K, will lead the Rebel contingent to Northridge. Petersen will be joined by Laura Affeld, Courtney Allen, Amanda Berg, Katie Cochran, Auzsane Crowe-Carter, Corey Honeycutt, Miranda Menzies, Alison Motor, Iris Munguia, Sara Williams and Kelsey Williamson.
